This procedure will guide you that how could you insert or put the password to your Windows Drive/Partition and even to your USB Flash Drive. Remember one thing in your mind, this method is performed in Windows 7 and it will surely work with Windows 7 and above. Windows XP or lower users can't perform this tutorial as it is not available for them.

Important Note:

You don't need to install or download any software as Microsoft already added pre-installed software "BitLocker Drive Encryption" in Windows 7 and above.

Before going to follow the below steps to acquire Bitlocker Windows 10 features, I want to add another important thing here if you are going to perform this tutorial for a USB drive then first you should backup your data from the USB and format it with NTFS as FAT32 does not support this Application.

Follow Instructions on Sequence:

1. Go to "My Computer".
2. "Right Click" drive which you want to encrypt,  select "Turn on BitLocker...".
3. Wait for a few seconds until BitLocker initialize.
4. Click to check "Use a password to unlock the drive".
5. Type your Password and also Retype it to the below box.
6. Click on the "Next" button.
7. Hit "Save the recovery key to a file" and save it anywhere other than the encrypted drive.
   (It will help you when you will forget your password)
8. After saving, hit the "Next" button then click on "Start Encrypting".
   (Please wait about half an hour to complete the process)
9. Hit the "Close" button when the screen appears "Encryption of X: is complete".
   (Where X: represent the encrypted drive)

So that's all the process you need to perform.

Whenever you start your Windows you're required to insert a password once to open or unlock the encrypted drive. Insert an Encrypted USB drive in Windows XP will not work.

How to Remove Password from Encrypted Drive?

1. Go to "Control Panel".
2. Select "All Control Panel Items" or "System Security".
3. Click on "BitLocker Drive Encryption".
4. Hit the "Turn off BitLocker" link from Encrypted Drive or Drives.
5. Push the "Decrypt Drive" button.
